Following public service in three cities and three states located along U.S. Interstate Highway 35, Eugene "Gene" Denton is a Consultant to Local Governments in the United States and abroad.  He was County Administrator in Johnson County, Kansas, from 1985 until 1998, and previously served as City Manager for nine years in Wichita, Kansas, and as Assistant to City Managers in Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas, for sixteen years.  Consulting assignments include cities in Kansas, the City of Colorado Springs in Colorado, as well as the City of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Denton graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Kansas.  He was also a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Cologne in Germany.  He is married to a professional schoolteacher and has two children, a daughter who is an attorney and a son who is an assistant city manager.
