William John Kros

Kros, William John, a retired Colonel in the Army, died of cancer on Sunday, August 24, 2003. As he did in life, he met his ultimate challenge refusing to lie down, but was sitting up facing death in the arms of his son, Major Todd Kros. He served his country both in Korea as well as two tours in Vietnam as a Vietnamese Advisor. Even though he
lived to be 73 years old, he lived life with youthful enthusiasm, constantly challenging himself to continue the pursuit of knowledge in every facet of human experience. He was the Patriarch of the Kros family, leaving behind three brothers and one sister. To these siblings he was not only loved but the most respected person on the face of the earth. The greatest legacy he left all his survivors was that nothing in life was more important than family. Besides a daughter, Karen Michelle; sons William J. and Todd C.; four nephews and five grandsons, he is survived by his best friend and wife, Elizabeth. The Kros family will forever be enriched by the legacy he left behind. Services and interment with full Military Honors will take place in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, William requests donations be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny Att: Sr/Dr. Shirley Ann Stevens; Loreto Clinic, Makeni, Sierra Leone, Africa in his memory.

Public Administration Service will also miss the vision and contributions of Bill Kros.  His involvement and service in the employ of PAS is described in this brief bio.  His experiences in Sierra Leone are recorded here.
