PRESIDENT
Elan Strait

I'm entirely positive that we will look back on college as the greatest, most vibrant years of our lives. The only doubt in my mind is whether or not we will have spent our time wisely.

We do not become leaders because we have to, nor do we become leaders to impress. The nine leaders you see listed above are committed to making a difference. Each one is responsible for a different aspect of Hillel and each one brings a unique talent to our Board.

Hillel, to many of us, is completely invented. There is no one Hillel, no specific definition or mold in which our organization fits. Rather, we design the home we need, the comfort we require while we are at college. This personal definition often takes many diverse forms, but it is ubiquitously significant.

Hillel, like our own Jewish identities, is not dictated to us by an outsider, but rather a peice of our individual jigsaw puzzle. We place it in the part of our life where it fits best. We preach individuality at Hillel and encourage creativity.

I urge you to choose the time you spend in college wisely; you will remember what you did here forever. For me, at least, I have found that time spent with Hillel is time not wasted. I have found my difference.
