- Freedom
- I love the freedom we have as college students. We are able to set our own schedules and
create times that fit our own personal clocks. As college students, we also are able to go wherever we want, whenever we want. This is completely different from life with my parents and a refreshing change.
- The Food
- The neighborhoods of Pittsburgh have many different cultures and food that I love to explore. Every weekend, my friends and I try a new restaurant to try and learn the bus system and familiarize ourselves with the areas. I have yet to have a bad meal. Even if we are feeling lazy, there are great restaurants on campus too!
- Pittsburgh
- Living in Pittsburgh is definitely one of the best parts of coming to Pitt. It is not too big of a city, so it still has a homey feel, but we still have the city campus. There are many great opportunities around here, which makes this a great school to come to, no matter what the major.
- Looking at Cathy Everyday
- Cathy is one of, if not the most beautiful and helpful thing on this campus. She is always hit perfectly by the sun and has no bad angles. The view from the top is amazing, but the bottom is one of my favorite study spots. Not to mention, when you are getting far away from campus, she is always there to guide you like the North Star.
- My Friends
- I have met so many great friends here and continue to meet more everyday. My roommate and I are really close and get along great. I also have met people that have very similar classes to me that I do homework and study with.
- Learning
- The things I have learned in college are also what make it great. I like the out of class atmosphere here at Pitt, but I also am really passionate about what I am learning. The topics I learn are complex, but really interesting and I don’t dread coming to class every day like I did in high school.

- I thought college would be much, much harder than high school, and I was right. They do not wait for you to transition, everyone just throws you into harder coursework and it is your job to keep up.
- I thought, since we are paying so much money and go to a good school, everyone would take college seriously, and boy was I wrong. I ask myself all the time, do these people even go to class? And the answer is normally no.
- I discovered that nothing can really prepare you for college. People say that high school tries to prepare you for college, but in actuality, nothing can preapre you for the pressure, responsibility, and workload we have here.
