My Future as an Engineer

The value of becoming a Registered Professional Engineer is beyond measure. To become one is not easy, however. In order to become a Registered Professional Engineer, one must obtain a four year engineering degree in college, take an engineering exam, practice under a Professional Engineer for four years, and then take another exam. It is no easy feat, as it takes much training, time and patience, but once someone becomes a Registered Professional Engineer, they become much more accreditted and trusted by employers, colleagues, and clients. They also must continue learning to constantly improve their skills, and Professional Engineers are the only engineers that may prepare engineering plans for public and private clients.

Engineers are playing a continually growing significant part in society today, and due to the heavy involvement, they must be well-trusted and have a great knowledge on their field. This is because engineers are entrusted to carry out the designing of important public structure designs, as well as work for various other clients, and the responsibilty of their work and the lives that depend on their work will fall back onto them. Due to this need of trust and importance that engineers stay knowledgeable and continue honing their skills, they must cocntinue learning to keep up with modern innovations and prepare for any work ahead. These are just a few reasons as to why Registered Professional Engineers are so important and have a large impact on society.
