Following completion of a total renovation of the School in 1992, the AEGD program was relocated during August, 1992 to a new six chair area dedicated exclusively to the AEGD Program and it's residents. This area includes a chair for radiographic activities; sterilization room; equipment and supply room; and a support laboratory with lathe, model trimmer, vacuspat, etc. In December 2009, the clinic was renovated, including the installation of six Adec dental chairs. The program has its own dental assistant and conference room. In 2008, the SDM became paperless with the AxiUm system and digital radiograpy. Each operatory is fully equipped with a computer, monitor, and necessary hardware for the full treatment of patients.  
In addition, there is a computer for developing and viewing digital radiographs on the clinic floor. There are several computers with internet access available for resident use adjacent to the AEGD Clinic. Residents are both encouraged and required to use the program's intra-oral camera to document cases and create presentations.
 

The School uses Hugh-Freidy's Instrument Management System (IMS) cassettes as part of its infection control activities. The School of Dental Medicine's infection control policies, which follow OSHA infection control are practiced for delivery of patient care. Compliance is monitored on a regular basis. The complete infection control policy is available upon request. All patient scheduling is done through AxiUm by scheduling clerks located on each floor of the building. Daily, this centralized system requests patient charts, and the IMS cassettes, with high and low speed handpieces. Depending on the nature of treatment being delivered, residents treat between four and six patients daily. Patient supervision is provided by four faculty on a rotational basis.

The faculty are Dr. Krzesinski, the program director; and Dr. Dietz, Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Kohler. In addition, residents can both consult and provide treatment with the School's faculty in any of the departments; and can provide treatment under their supervision. This has proved beneficial to former residents who elected to further their education in a graduate specialty program. Many of the 65 residents who completed the program since 1990 have been accepted into graduate specialty programs. Teaching opportunities / experiences are available and encouraged.

The AEGD resident participates with the other post graduate residents at the School of Dental Medicine in the required post graduate core curriculum. In addition, residents attend seminars given by School of Dental Medicine faculty. With the exception of a few procedures, virtually all dental laboratory work is sent out to commercial laboratories. The didactic program constitutes approximately 15% of the total experience. There is a rotation through the Implant Center which provides both clinical and didactic experience in the placement and restoration of dental implants. The AEGD Program also rotates through the Center for Patients with Special Needs where the residents provide treatment to patients using a variety of behavioral and pharmacological techniques.
