A table of random numbers is the easiest method to use for selection.
Choose any page of the table or random numbers and any column to start your
selection. Since your study population is composed of 380 colic cases you
should only use 3 digits from each column; I selected the last 3 digits.
Discard any number larger than 380. Select 100 horses from 380.
Compare the results from different random selection methods. Select 100 horses (sampled population) from 380 horses from the study population. |
