Another study looked at a few other things and found that
knowledge of memory and everyday function improves with education. This took a different
tack completely. Instead of training people specifically on memory strategies they took a
broader perspective on coping strategies and learning about memory; how it works and
doesn’t work sometimes, how we age well, what healthy lifestyle things we contribute to
aging. This was done in five weekly two hour sessions on a small group of 36 participates
and 24 controls and found that greater pretest to post-test change on reports of everyday
memory function. Increased knowledge. |
