Ying Ding teaches graduate courses in survival analysis and applied statistical modeling in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science. She received the University of Pittsburgh's James L. Craig Excellence in Education Award in 2021.

Mentoring & advising
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Ding advises doctoral and master's students in biostatistics and supervises graduate student researchers. Her advisees have earned ENAR Distinguished Student Paper Awards, ICSA and Lifetime Data Science student paper awards, and departmental teaching and research honors, and have gone on to positions in academia and industry.
