A postdoctoral research associate position is immediately available for a project supported by NIH at Multi-modality Biomedical Ultrasound Imaging Lab in the Center for Ultrasound Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics, housed at the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. The aim of the project is to develop a novel hybrid noninvasive imaging modality to characterize atherosclerotic plaques, combining ultrasound-induced thermal strain imaging and super resolution ultrasound imaging techniques. The study involves computer simulations for ultrasound signal/image processing, beamforming and tissue and vessel modeling, water tank experiments using the tissue/vessel mimicking phantoms, and excised tissue specimens, and in vivo animal model.
Applicants should have completed a PhD in any fields of the following,
We have positions for Phd students. Outstanding candidates interested in working on any of the our multimodal imaging projects are welcome to send inquiries including a statement of interest and complete CV. Experience in the fields is preferred, but not required.
We regularly receive motivated undergraduate students from all over Pitt and CMU. Most of them do research associated with coursework, or are volunteers who want experience in research.
