Honors Applied Statistical Methods
Lectures

All the lectures feature many Examples, for which Responses to Questions can be filled in during lecture using either of two pdf formats:

  • 4xslides are 4-slides-per-page handouts, intended for printing hard-copy and filling in with pencil. Just print in the usual way; no special instructions are needed.
  • 1xslides are 1-slide-per-page pdfs with text fields that can be filled in with Adobe Reader on your laptop during lecture. The text fields, shown in light blue, appear at the top of each slide for additional notes, as well as in the appropriate spaces for Responses. Note that your notes and responses inside the text fields can be saved for viewing or printing purposes. If you intend to do this, it's better to access this website directly, not via Blackboard. DO NOT print these 1-per-page slides hardcopy as they are, because this would waste too much paper. You can create 4-per-page printouts on a Mac as follows:
    • Save the file from my web page and open it in Adobe Reader.
    • Select View>Rotate View>Clockwise.
    • Select File>Print>Layout>Pages per Sheet:4 and Layout Direction: first option (Z-shaped configuration, with 1 and 2 on top, 3 and 4 on bottom).
    • Select Print.
    On a PC you can
    • Save the file from my web page and open it in Adobe Reader.
    • Select Print
    • Select Page Scaling: Multiple pages per sheet (keep the default 2 by 2)
    • Select OK.
