All readings start at 7:30 p.m. and cost $10 at the door. Refreshments are provided.

The American Shorts Reading Series presents classic and contemporary short works of American fiction through a series of live readings “performed” by a dynamic cross-section of familiar Pittsburgh personalities in interesting venues throughout the city.

To expand the ideas and dimensions of the texts, the American Shorts Reading Series presents independent short films by respected American filmmakers shown between the readings. American Shorts transports local fiction fans from firehouses to breweries, exploring themes from “City Life” to “Bad Behavior,” as read by Pittsburgh journalists, deejays, documentarians, and thespians.
