Boris Grozdanoff, Department of Philosophy

Abstract: The purpose of the project is to critically examine Michael Friedman's recent conception of relativized a priori principles that constitute a framework for the formulation and revision of empirical laws. The epistemic character of the proposed principles is the main focus of the project, and various species of possible empiricist criticism will be investigated and their prospects for success will be assessed. The concept of a priori revisability will be analyzed as an alternative to empirical revisability. |
