visiting fellows program application
The Center usually releases a call of applications for Visiting Fellowships in October or November, and applications for terms in the following year (September to April) are due by December 15. Center Officers begin review on December 15 of all applications received for terms in the following year (September to April) and notify applicants by January 31.
Interested applicants are encouraged to inquire.
An application contains:
(1) A cover letter that indicates a Visiting Fellowship is sought and describes: the period of
proposed residence in the Center; any previous Fellowships at the Center; the source and amount of likely
funding; and an indication of need for supplementary funds.
(2) A description of the project to be undertaken
during residence (500-1000 words).
(3) A curriculum vitae.
(4) A sample of (or internet link to) your written
work.
(5) Letters of reference from three knowledgeable
scholars. We recommend letters whose content is blinded to the applicant.
Electronic versions of the application are strongly preferred and should be sent via email to:
Carolyn Oblak.
Applicants are reminded that the Visiting Fellows program is restricted
to those with a relevant doctoral degree. Doctoral candidates are
advised that their applications will only be considered after their
doctorates have been awarded. We also would like to remind you that instead of being limited to two semesters during your entire career, Visiting Fellows can now visit the Center for at most two semesters every ten years.
