Lisa Damm
University of California, San Diego, USA
Academic Year 2009-10
Scientific Reasoning

Lisa completed her PhD at the University of California, San Diego in the spring of 2009. The title of her dissertation was “The Architecture of Emotion Experience.” The project focuses on developing a biologically plausible theoretical model for understanding how emotion experiences are constructed and exploring the implications of this model for contemporary debates in moral theory. In addition to emotions and moral theory, Lisa’s current primary philosophical interests revolve around reasoning, rationality, and decision making. Her next project will focus on exploring these interests in a scientific context.

Having spent all of her life in Florida and southern California Lisa is nervous about her first real winter in Pittsburgh. When not philosophizing Lisa likes to go hiking and backpacking.
