My Writings

I am not particularly a writer, but I have written down my ideas from time to time on a variety of topics over the years, beginning when I was a student at MIT. Besides technical publications, some of these writings were published (e.g., letters to the editor), and some were printed and distributed on a limited basis by me personally. Others were never published or distributed before, such as correspondence. Sometimes, I wrote quickly because I had a sort of inspiration. At other times, the writing itself was a way to wrestle with and express the ideas, sometimes with surprising results. When I looked through and collected the files, I was surprised to find a large number. I generally always have topics in mind for further writing, but I only write occasionally.

The writings are divided into three major categories (Bible and Christian Topics, Theory of Evolution, and Political Topics), although they inevitably often overlap. I have given the year of writing for each document. I have provided links to these documents for others to view and/or download if they are interested. The act of collecting the writings was itself useful for me to find old files that have been forgotten and to refresh my thinking on some topics. There are quite a few files, although there are also many more than I did not include.

On Books

I own many books, and I have read a good number of books. I will not try to provide lists of these, but I briefly give some of my ideas on books, including some favorite authors and my favorite books.

Practical Tips

This is a collection of (what I think are) some helpful practical tips for daily living. I have learned many things in my lifetime from a variety of people (including helpful online sites), and perhaps others would find such tips useful also.
