The Annual Writers' Café/Prosody
Undergraduate Writing Contest

The Writers' Café partners with Prosody to sponsor the Annual Writers' Café /Prosody Undergraduate Writing Contest. Prosody is a radio program, produced in Pittsburgh for WYEP, that features writers and poets reading their own work. You can hear Prosody on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 7:30 on WYEP 91.3 FM.

The contest takes place each spring term. Writers who have attended at least one Writers' Café session during the current academic year can submit their work to the Annual Writers' Café /Prosody Undergraduate Writing Contest in the categories of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. The entries are judged "blindly" by members of the Pitt English Department faculty who have not facilitated a Writers' Café session in the last semester. Winners receive a prize as well as the opportunity to read their winning entries on Prosody.
