Hung Keung is an independent filmmaker and new media artist, and teaching in the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Currently as a Reasearch Scholar with his Desiree and Hans Michael Jebsen Fellowship from Asian Cultural Council in New York, Hung as been ivited to present his latest interactive projects at the Center for New Media at the Unviersity of California, Berkeley, and to visit the Media Laboratory in MIT.

This talk will survey a number of points of intersection between early modern art and science, with a view to developing new ways of thinking about the ontological and epistemological status of pictorial realism ca. 1600.

Pablo Campos Calvo-Sotelo’s doctoral thesis, “The University in Spain: History, Urban Planning, and Architecture,” published in 2000 by the Ministry of Fomentation and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain, encompasses the most complete and profound analyses of the Spanish universities to date.
He is the author of the book “El Viaje de la Utopia” (Editorial Complutense, 2002), which was granted the International Award in Architecture “Premio Vitruvio 2002” and the Award from the City Council of Madrid 2002 (category for Urban History and Research).
Since 1990 he has carried out plans and consulting projects for universities, city councils and autonomous communities in Spain. Some of his work includes “Project: University Olympic Center – Madrid 2012” in 2002 and the Analysis, “University and City in the Community of Madrid” in 2004, among other projects.

"Spatial History and Criminal Memory: Confronting the Nazi Past in the Architecture of Postwar Nuremberg"

Paul Jaskot is a leading scholar on architecture, politics, and visual culture in the National Socialist and Cold War periods of German history, his works include: "Gerhard Richter and Adolf Eichmann," Oxford Art Journal (October 2005); The Architecture of Oppression: The SS, Forced Labor and the Nazi Monumental Building Economy (London: Routledge, 2000); and "Anti-Semitic Policy in Albert Speer's Plans for the Rebuilding of Berlin," Art Bulletin (December 1996). His talk comes from his current book project on issues of history and memory of the Nazi past in post-World War II Germany.
Professor Jaskot is Associate Professor and Chair at DePaul University.

"Designing for Democracy: A Third-Century National Mall"

Throughout its two-hundred-year history, the National Mall in Washington, D.C., has expanded and evolved, and it can evolve again to meet the civic and cultural needs of our growing democracy. In this lecture Dr. Feldman discusses the Third-Century Mall, a concept recently championed by The Washington Post and others.
Dr. Feldman is an art historian and chair of the non-profit National Coalition to Save Our Mall.
