Cephas was born and raised in an industrial city called Tema in Ghana. He graduated high school in the same city and then moved 15 miles out to attend college at the University of Ghana where he graduated with a B.Sc in Chemistry although he later found himself working in finance and accounting under mysterious circumstances. After a few years, Cephas moved to the United States to pursue further studies in Chemistry and under the guidance of Dr. Peter Norris at Youngstown State University, he became strongly interested in organic synthesis and conducted research in “the application of intramolecular carbonyl nitrene insertion reactions in the synthesis of complex heterocycles” which inspired him to join Prof. Floreancig’s lab for further education. Cephas likes to watch sports, read, sing, cook, take bus rides or drive around the neighborhood, spend time with his family and sleep.
