Many colors of Pittsburgh
Qi Qin was born and raised in Shanxi, P.R. China. He graduated from a high school 90 miles away from home and as a result, he learned the secrets of being aloof. He graduated from Peking University, Health Science Center as a B.S. in Pharmaceutical science. His unpleasant experience working with animals during his undergraduate lab successfully convinced him that he should stick to glasswares and clear solutions. As a MS student he worked in Dr. Xin-shan Ye's lab in carbohydrate chemistry, specifically stereoselective glycosylations. The stereochemical properties of oxacycles fascinated him and as a continuation, he joined Dr. Floreancig's lab. He likes  cooking, reading and wandering in the middle of nowhere in his free time.
