Introduction

This lesson was developed as part of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Associate of Science in Nursing Degree Program. The WebQuest was designed as part of the Cardiac Module which is presented to nursing students in their sophomore year. The WebQuest augments the didactic lecture and case study presentations utilized during the presentation of the cardiac content.

This lesson is an exploration of various cardiac arrhythmias. The learner is asked to review the anatomy and physiology of the heart and the cardiac conduction system. This knowledge was provided to the students in a prior Anatomy and Physiology Course.

Following their review of Anatomy & Physiology and cardiac conduction system, the learner will explore various cardiac arrhythmias - focusing on point of origin, ECG representation, signs and symptoms, causes, treatments and prevention of the arrhythmia.
