Superstar violinist Sarah Chang gives the world premiere of Theofanidis' soaring Violin Concerto. Adams' The Chairman Dances is from the acclaimed opera Nixon in China. Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 brings the concerto to a stirring finale.

Depicting the glamorous decadence of the Roaring Twenties, The Great Gatsby is 20th Century ballet at its best presented in an emotional story, and this multi-act ballet features lavish costumes and exquisite sets coupled with popular songs of the era. This Pittsburgh Premiere of the heartbreaking Jazz Age tale uses stirring choreography and follows millionaire Jay Gatsby’s romantic yearning for Daisy Buchanan while portraying the excitement and despair of the times.

America’s greatest epic comes to the stage in a new opera that’s taken audiences and critics by storm. Follow the Joad family as they pursue the American Dream from the Oklahoma Dustbowl to the orchards of California. Obie-winning composer Ricky Ian Gordon and Tony-nominated librettist Michael Korie fuse the traditions of opera and Broadway with blues, Appalachian music, and echoes of Copland and Gershwin.  It’s a journey you’ll never forget.

A swimming pool at center stage transforms the O'Reilly into a magnificent universe for Mary Zimmerman's adaptation of Ovid's classic tales.  From King Midas to Aphrodite, from Orpheus to Narcissus, Zimmerman reveals how myths and legends from our past still enthrall us today.  With its phenomenal setting and dynamic acting ensemble, Metamorphoses is a theatrical juggernaut not to be missed.

DRUMLine Live transports the African American marching band tradition from the playing field to the stage. Featuring a flamboyant cast from the nation’s top historically African American colleges and universities, DRUMLine Live interprets soul legends such as Earth, Wind & Fire and Tower of Power, along side contemporary hip hop and R&B favorites. The percussionists’ precise command of rhythm and speed, coupled with the dancers’ explosive choreography and athleticism, will leave audiences breathless. DRUMLine Live is a slice of the American experience that should be celebrated.
