The Center for American Music, part of the University of Pittsburgh Library System, is housed in the Stephen Foster Memorial Building on Pitt's campus. The center engages in research, teaching, interpretive performance, and conservation of music in the context of its cultural and social roles in the history of the United States of America. It is dedicated to expanding and documenting knowledge of American music and its roles in American life.

The Museum is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Guided tours are $1.50 for adults, $1.00 for senior citizens and children and must be arranged in advance. Unguided tours are free. To make a tour reservation for the Memorial, please call 412.624.4100.
