Fourth
In-House Workshop
The
Fourth In-House conference attracted 24 speakers from amongst the
Resident Fellows, Visiting Fellows, Center Associates and former
North American Visiting Fellows of the Center. The three-day event,
held on the Pitt campus 26-28 October 2001, provided an opportunity
for local Fellows to renew their involvement with the Center and
for us to welcome back several former visitors. Papers covered a
wide range of topics in the history and philosophy of science, including
logic and metaphysics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of computing,
history of mathematics and history of biology. The conference was
generously supported by the Harvey and Leslie Wagner Endowment,
the University Endowment and the Sarah Scaife Foundation.
