In this lecture we have highlighted the strengths of an integrated population-based information in analyzing the health care system and raising important questions about the relationship between health care and health.
Our studies show how population-based health research can be used to provide health care decision makers, analysts, and providers with accurate and timely information so they can offer effective and efficient services to maintain and improve the health of the population.

A final thought:
Perhaps one of the most important achievements arising from the development of the Population Health Information System (POPULIS) has been the establishment of a close and ongoing relationship between academics and policymakers. Such a relationship is critical to bridging the gap between researchers, the government, and the public and ultimately paving the way for evidence-based decision-making.
