Juan Pablo Sutherland. Santiago, Chile. Writer and independent queer activist, his project “Latin American Queer Theory: Politics, Homophobia and Cultural Practices,” explores the history and representations of homosexuality in Chile. Sutherland is author of the short story collections Angeles Negros (1994) and Santo Roto (1999), and he was editor of A corazón abierto: geografía literaria de la homosexualidad en Chile (2002).
