Search for most updated materials ↑ Active immunisation can be seen as a bypass - a bypass of the state of "infected and infectious case" (i.e. a double bypass). Bypassing the state of infected prevents disease in the individual, and is important from a clinical point of view. Bypassing the state of infectious prevents the spread of infection in the population (and disease in other individuals), and is important from a public health point of view. This presentation focuses on the latter.
