Piers Anthony is probably most famous for his popular "Xanth" novels. The series, begun in 1977 with "A Spell for Chameleon," currently boasts over 30 titles, with more on the way. Mr. Anthony is a very prolific writer living somewhere near Lake Ogre-Chobee, Florida.
Some other series he has written (which I personally enjoyed more than the Xanth novels) are the Adept series (seven books) and Incarnations of Immortality (another seven books).
