Clinical features --- Patients with chronic viral hepatitis usually present with no specific clinical symptoms, therefore, frequently overlooked in clinical practice, and it is not unusual that diagnosis is made only after having progressed to cirrhotic stage. In cases of acute exacerbation (acute flare-up), there will be of symptoms like that of acute hepatitis.

Hepatomegaly is detected usually in chronic hepatitis, however, liver decreases in its size along with progression to cirrhosis.
