Lets just imagine that if we were to invent a ‘self’ today to answer our needs what would we think of. Currently i can only think of this personal digital assistant (selfie stick or no selfie stick), perhaps in the near future we may think of these as our personal robots who may look more like bipeds? So does this mean we (with our individual selves) are being operated by someone else? Well what do you think? Is the person holding the selfie stick representing the universal self (in this scheme of things)? Is that the state of unity? Well the answer is YES and NO. The person holding the selfie stick may represent the universal self and may even be the creator but that person doesn’t represent ‘unity.’ Both ‘individual’ and ‘universal’ selves are part of a duality (our current reality) but the reality of ‘Yoga/Unity doesn’t follow this logic. In the universal-self there’s no creator and no hand holding. Unity is just that, a merger where there is no universal-self either.
