Faculty
As an interdisciplinary program, film studies draws upon faculty
from nine departments in order to cover broad areas such as film criticism,
theory, and history.
Our faculty is highly published with approximately 40 books among
them on film and media (as well as additional texts on other subjects).
They have lectured internationally in such places as England, Scotland,
Ireland, Canada, Japan, Israel, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Russia,
Poland, Belgium, France, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Finland, and Holland.
They have received awards from such prestigious organizations as
the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Endowment
for the Arts, the American Council of Learned Societies, the Ford
Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Society for Cinema and
Media Studies.
