Faculty/StaffCarl KurlanderCarl Kurlander is a Visiting Distinguished Senior Lecturer and faculty adviser of the student organization Pitt In Hollywood. He is a Hollywood screenwriter (St. Elmo's Fire), author of The F-Word with comedian Louie Anderson, and a television writer/producer (Saved By The Bell). Kurlander has written screenplays under contract for Universal, Disney, Sony, Orion, and Paramount studios. His journey back to Pittsburgh from Hollywood was chronicled in Po Bronson's What Should I Do With My Life? He has co-founded the Steeltown Entertainment Project with other entertainment expatriates and produced the short documentary Pittsburgh: Hollywood's Best Kept Secret.
